Andy is an investor, entrepreneur and philosopher whose Profit with Purpose methods have shaped diverse industries and countries. He founded LeapFrog Investments in 2007. Within a decade, Fortune ranked LeapFrog as one of the top 5 Companies to Change the World, alongside Apple and Novartis.
Today, LeapFrog’s companies serve 559 million people in Africa and Asia with healthcare, financial tools or climate solutions. Those companies also finance 24 million small businesses and support 38 million jobs. LeapFrog companies have grown at 22% a year on average, helping the firm to raise several billion dollars from global institutional investors. In 2022 in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, Andy was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for “distinguished service to the impact investing industry, to global business leadership, and to financial inclusion”. He has received global leadership awards from WEF, YPO, IIS, EY and other institutions. He has been recognised by the Economist Group for demonstrating how “to change the way we invest as individuals, institutions and societies”.
Born and raised in South Africa, now an Australian, Andy holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge. He has been a faculty member or visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge, Harvard University and Columbia University. Andy has authored two books on globalisation and governance and is co-author of
publications with diverse leaders and Nobel laureates.
