James Birch

Chairman of Chartwell Speakers

James Birch has a master’s degree in economics from Cambridge University. James worked in
finance for 30 years, including 21 years at Goldman Sachs in London, New York, Mumbai and
Hong Kong. During this time James organised, with Lord O’Neill, a number of BRICs investor trips.
Today James spends most of his time running an agricultural estate in Lincolnshire, but is a board
member of various businesses including a leading speaker agency and a literary agency and is a
trustee of a number of charities.
